Outstanding example of a stoneware jug decorated with a pheasant on a stump made by Frank B. Norton of Worcester, Massachusetts, circa 1865. Ht. 14". This artistic design was made by several New York potteries, notably White's, Utica (NY). This example in bold cobalt captures the drama of the best decorative pieces. The condition is very good with several chips to the spout. No repairs.
