Excellent pair of brass andirons, New York or Philadelphia, late 18th Century having an unusual bold combination of elements: tops have acorn finials above unusually large balls which are etched with floral and leaf swags. The balls rest on a turned shaft above finely etched plinths. The front of the plinths are engraved with facing landscapes showing a tree and a house. Ht. 18"; D 19". Excellent condition.
