Crolius Jug

Excellent incised New York stoneware jug with unusually large bird (8") on a small jug (11"), attributed to John Crolius, Jr., New York City, circa 1810-1815. Similar jug from the Zoler collection sold at Sotheby's January 22, 2005, lot 648. Another similar jug is illustrated in The Barry Cohen Collection (1990), pg. 30. Wooden stopper is old and possibly original. (Chip to lip.)
